GLIMPSE LAKE and LITTLE BEAVER CREEK RANCH are located in the Nicola Valley, the heart of British Columbia's cattle country and big ranches.
Location:
330 km from downtown Vancouver, 50km from Merritt, 90 km from Kamloops and only a 2 h. drive to Kelowna and Okanagan Lake.
How to get there from Vancouver
About a 3.5 hour drive - avoid rush hours in Vancouver
- From the Sutton Place Hotel turn right onto Burrard Street
- At the second intersection take a left onto Nelson Street
- Follow Nelson Street and cross Cambie Bridge
- Follow Cambie Street up the hill
- Turn left onto West 12th Avenue
- Follow West 12th Avenue until Grandview Highway
- Then follow ROUTE 1 East to Hope
- In Hope, change to HIGHWAY No. 5 towards KAMLOOPS
- Stay on Highway 5, pass the Toll Booth ($10 Can)
- Head down to MERRITT
- Take second exit for Merritt (# 290 Voght Street) for QUILCHENA
- Turn right onto HIGHWAY 5A towards Quilchena Hotel
- Nicola Lake will come up on your left
- Pass the Quilchena Hotel (nice Store and Bar) – about 20 km from Merritt
- After another 5 km turn right onto Douglas Lake Road at the First Nation Log Church
Follow Douglas Lake Road for about 7 km until you come to a big Hydro Station
Turn left onto Lauder Road immediately after Hydro Station (you will see a sign for Little Beaver Creek Ranch)
16 km of good gravel road lead to Glimpse Lake
Follow road to the far end of Glimpse Lake to Little Beaver Creek Ranch driving through the main gate over a cattle guard all the way to the Main Lodge to check in.
How to get there from Seattle
About a 5 hour drive - avoid rush hours in Seattle
Via Vancouver (a two hour drive to Vancouver on Interstate Highway 5)
- Cross the border in Blaine
- Take Highway 91 to City Center Vancouver
- From there another 3.5 hour drive North-East

Via Sumas (a 5 hour drive from Seattle)
- Take Interstate Highway 5 North to Bellingham
- Then 542 over Lawance and cross border in Sumas
- From there Highway 1 east to Chilliwack, Hope
- In Hope change to Highway 5 towards Kamloops

How to get there from Calgary
Six to seven hours drive through Kamloops.
- Take Highway 1 from Calgary through Banff
- Lake Louise (stop at the Relais Chateaux Post Hotel)
- Golden, Revelstoke, Sicamous, Salmon Arm to Kamloops
- In Kamloops take Highway 5A towards Merritt (Nicola Lake)
- About 63 km from Kamloops Nicola Lake will come up on your right and Highway 5A will lead you through a small settlement
- The First Nation Log Church will come up on your left about 68 km from Kamloops
- At the First Nation Log Church turn left onto Douglas Lake Road

Alternative route through the Okanagan Valley
- Head towards Enderby from Sicamous and to Vernon, Kelowna
- Take Highway 97C from Kelowna to Merritt over Aspen Grove
- In Merritt, take second Exit (#290 Voght Street) and turn right onto Highway 5A towards Quilchena
- Nicola Lake will come up on your left
- Pass Quilchena Hotel (nice Store and Bar) – about 20 km from Merritt
- After another 5 km turn right onto Douglas Lake Road at the First Nation Log Church

Closest international airport is Vancouver (YVR). Closest national airport is Kamloops with several daily flights to Vancouver, Calgary and other destinations.

Health:
Kamloops has a well-equipped General Hospital with a 24-hour emergency facility as well as a choice of private clinics with doctors of all specialties.
Shopping:
Vancouver offers a huge selection of international brands and shopping. Kamloops has many major chain store outlets including Overwaitea, Costco, Wal-mart, Super Store, Zellers, Safeway, The Bay, Sears, Future Shop, Office Depot, Home Hardware, Home Depot and many more.
Climate:
The climate is very dry with warm summers and cold winters and normally a beautiful Indian Summer that can begin mid September and last well into November. Average temperatures range from the high 70s (F) in summer and around 12 (F) in the winter. Average snowfall in winter is 2-3 feet. The lake is frozen solid from mid December to late March.
